Financial Breakaway Newsletter - Quick Updates, Please Read

It's been a while...

I know, I know… it’s been a while since my last newsletter   😬

However, I’ve been busy with a lot of exciting things lately so I wanted to share some of those updates with you below.

 SagePoint Rebrands to Osaic

• Attention Clients•

SagePoint Financial, the Broker/Dealer firm we at High Point Capital Group use to support our business operations announced that its parent company (formerly Advisor Group) adopted a new brand and name – Osaic.

This means client accounts will reflect the rebrand to Osaic (Osaic Wealth, Inc.) on September 1, 2023.

The firm will soon provide you official notice of this change in the mail soon, BUT no action is required on your part.

These changes won’t impact the way we work together.

Advisor Group (soon to be Osaic) has over 11,000 affiliated advisors, has over $500 billion in client assets, and was operating eight separate broker dealers prior to this rebrand.

This rebrand will bring all eight broker-dealers under one name and service platform — Osaic — which I think is a good thing.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. As always, thank you for the ongoing opportunity to serve you.

-Ryan H.

Ryan Joins NextGen Advisor's Council

• Update •

Again, speaking of Advisor Group (soon to be Osaic)…earlier this year I was asked to be a speaker on the main-stage at Advisor Group’s NXT Conference where all 11,000 advisors are invited.

This NXT Conference focused on the financial professional of tomorrow who, regardless of their age, are committed to long-term success by serving next generation clients.

The event brought together forward-thinking experts who explored emerging industry trends such as use of AI technologies, the changing workplace, and the future of productivity  for advisors in their businesses.

I spoke about my innovation and experience in the changing landscape of client service, marketing, and the macro generational wealth transfer with an Executive Vice President from Osaic and a fellow advisor from Austin, TX.

Podcast Relaunch Coming Soon

• update •

I’ve been in the studio recording and will have a new and improved podcast coming soon!

I launched my Financial Breakaway Podcast in early 2019 as a fun, pet-project mainly.  I did this from my basement completely bootstrapping everything from the recording, editing, and publishing.  I didn’t really have a plan of what I wanted to talk about other than cool financial planning, economy/investment related topics…and so that is what I did.

By the end of 2022, I had recorded 30 episodes and have had over 15,000 downloads.     Now to some that may sound small and to others it may sound big, but in reality it’s somewhere in the middle for podcasts.  However, I didn’t start my podcast to have huge listeners, I just wanted the right listener.

I was getting great feedback from current clients and prospective clients saying they liked getting to “know” me better by listening directly from me on topics…and that was my goal.

However, after these 30 episodes, I realized I needed to take a step back and get a better vision of what I wanted the future of the podcast to be about, what I wanted to talk about, and hence who I was talking to moving forward.  Then I needed to make sure that vision aligned with my passions and business as well.

I’m happy to report that I’m almost there on that vision and will be relaunching the podcast soon!

Now, the podcast feed will stay the same wherever you listen to your podcasts (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google, etc), and podcast name will just have a slight update: The Financial Breakaway Podcast: Your Clear Path to Retirement

I’ll also be having a video of the podcast on my YouTube Channel, which I’m pumped about.

Stay tuned for more relaunch updates…

Client Review Meetings Update

• Update•

Okay, last update.

As most of my clients know already, because I’ve talked to you already or will be shortly…I updated my process for client review meetings process (see below for the update notice).

I’m happy to report this has been a very successful change all around.  Busy, but very successful and one of the reasons why I do what I do…always trying to be better at serving my clients!

The Update

My goal is to have clients pre-booked for two meetings a year, every year.

The Why

I’m always striving to upgrade the service and value I provide to my clients.  I believe moving to a consistent meeting cadence will improve:

Communication – between each other on life events and financial planning

Organization – keep investment & financial planning on track

Planning breadth – pre-defined meeting outlines for specific times of the year

i.e., the March meeting agenda may include market performance and tax, while September’s agenda may include retirement outlook and estate planning

What clients can expect

My team and I will analyze your past meeting times and will then send you a calendar invite with your scheduled virtual meeting times.

Open Virtual Office Hours
